Munich/ Freiburg — With a team led by Partner Dr. Rainer Herschlein, Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek advised Wagner Fernmeldebau Holding GmbH on the majority acquisition of Benzina Kommunikation GmbH of Freiburg. The seller of the shares is the sole shareholder and managing director M. Benzina. He will remain on board unchanged after the closing of the transaction, and the company name will be continued.
The Wagner Group is currently forming a full-service provider for the construction of fiber optic infrastructure as part of a buy-and-build strategy. With this acquisition, the Wagner Group is further expanding its range of services and will in future be able to implement comprehensive projects in the FTTX sector using a general contractor approach. Benzina Kommunikation GmbH complements the existing service portfolio with all services within communication and network technology.
Benzina Kommunikation GmbH was founded in 1999 by M. Benzina and has been owner-managed ever since. The company implements needs-based solutions in the areas of communications and network technology, building and lighting technology, and electromobility infrastructure for municipal facilities, companies, and public-sector clients.
Wagner GmbH, based in Waldböckelheim near Bad Kreuznach, is a preferred partner of Deutsche Telekom AG in FTTC/B/H expansion in Germany. Wagner GmbH was founded in 2006 by Peter Wagner and has been managed by him ever since.
