London, Munich — Oakley Capital Private Equity (“Oakley”), a leading European private equity firm focused on the mid-market segment, today announced the opening of its Munich office. With this step, the investment company underlines the importance of the DACH region for its investment activities.
The new office will be led by Dr. Ralf Schremper, Partner at Oakley Capital. He joined Oakley in 2017 and has more than 15 years of M&A and corporate investment experience. Ralf Schremper is supported by a German-speaking investment team with extensive experience in the sectors in which Oakley specializes — consumer, education and TMT (technology, media and telecommunications).
The office opening underscores Oakley’s successful investment history in the German-speaking region. Oakley’s current German investments include Schülerhilfe, a leading provider of professional tutoring services, and Career Partner Group, one of the leading full-service providers of workforce development and private higher education.
In the past, Oakley held stakes in the online dating platform Parship Elite and the online consumer portal Verivox, among others. These investments were sold in 2018.
The Munich office will support Oakley’s strategy to continue to invest in mid-sized companies in Western Europe and deliver continuous value creation through an extensive network of international entrepreneurs and industry experts.
Ralf Schremper, Partner at Oakley Capital: “We are delighted to open Oakley’s first office outside the UK in Munich. As a growth investor, there are a number of attractive investment opportunities for us in Germany in our preferred sectors of Consumer, Education and TMT. With our new office in Munich, we are now ideally positioned to realize further attractive investments in the DACH region.”
Peter Dubens, Managing Partner and Co-Founder of Oakley Capital, added: “Opening an office in Germany is a logical step for Oakley, which will further strengthen our ability to create value through targeted investments. We have already achieved significant success in the DACH region. With the opening of the new office, we intend to continue on this path of success.”
