Munich — As of November 15, 2018, Dipl.-Ing. Karl Christian Vogel (54, photo) will take over the position of Managing Director of BayBG Bayerische Beteiligungsgesellschaft. This means that BayBG’s management board is once again complete, after Peter Pauli took over as spokesman for the management board on October 1.
Karl Christian Vogel has decades of experience in the consulting and investment business. After studying mechanical engineering, he began his professional career in 1992 at the consulting firm CIM Management, which focuses on medium-sized industrial companies. There he successfully implemented several restructuring projects, among others at Schott in Mainz. From 1996, he was head of organizational development at Brose Fahrzeugteile GmbH & Co. KG, Coburg. This was followed by further positions at 3i Deutschland, Frankfurt, and at a predecessor company of today’s Süd Beteiligungen GmbH (SüdBG), Stuttgart, where he was Managing Director until the end of 2017.
In his career, Karl Christian Vogel and his teams have assisted more than 50 medium-sized companies with successions, growth projects and asset diversification with equity and mezzanine and financed around 80 technology start-ups.
“I am delighted,” says Peter Pauli, “that we have been able to win Karl Christian Vogel, such an established manager with experience in the investment business, as Managing Director. Together we will work to further expand BayBG’s position as a competent, efficient and market-leading investment partner for Bavarian SMEs.”
