Munich — In March 2021, funds advised by Bregal Unternehmerkapital (BU) were able to conclude agreements to acquire a majority stake in ACTICO, a leading international provider of software for intelligent process automation and digital decision-making. ACTICO’s management and shareholders will retain a significant equity stake in the company. McDermott Will & Emery provided legal advice to the shareholders of ACTICO on the sale to Bregal Unternehmerkapital.
ACTICO is a leading RegTech software provider offering intelligent decision automation, especially for the banking and financial services industry. The company sells its solutions to customers in over 25 countries worldwide. ACTICO was created in 2015 through a carve-out from the Bosch Group and today employs around 140 people at its headquarters in Immenstaad on Lake Constance and other branches in the USA and Singapore.
The software platform is used in particular in the areas of risk management, regulatory and compliance, fraud protection, customer loyalty and process optimization. In particular, ACTICO excels in processing large amounts of data and in developing reliable, robust and easily scalable applications.
Bregal Unternehmerkapital invests in medium-sized companies in a wide range of industries in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Northern Italy. The focus is on market leaders and “hidden champions” with strong management teams and growth potential.
Bregal Unternehmerkapital GmbH was founded in 2015 by Florian Schick and Jan-Daniel Neumann. The funds they advise support entrepreneurs family businesses.
