Inves­ti­ti­ons­bank Berlin (IBB) is the deve­lo­p­ment and struc­tu­ral bank of the Fede­ral State of Berlin focu­sing on the deve­lo­p­ment of busi­ness, housing and real estate and labour market promo­tion. IBB’s busi­ness deve­lo­p­ment acti­vi­ties are geared towards loan-based and invest­ment-orien­ta­ted forms of finance which are offe­red as revol­ving support funds. The bank prima­rily serves small and medium-sized enter­pri­ses (SMEs) and start-ups in Berlin. One focus is on the clus­ters of biotech­no­logy, medi­cal tech­no­logy, infor­ma­tion and commu­ni­ca­tion technology/media, opti­cal tech­no­lo­gies, trans­port and mobi­lity, as well as energy tech­no­logy. In addi­tion to its invest­ment promo­tion programme entit­led ‘common task to improve regio­nal econo­mic struc­ture’, IBB’s ‘Pro FIT’ programme is speci­fi­cally tail­o­red to the needs of tech­no­logy compa­nies. Through its sister company, IBB Ventures, IBB offers equity capi­tal for early-stage compa­nies. Nume­rous grant program­mes and advi­sory services provi­ded by another sister company, IBB Busi­ness Team GmbH, round off IBB’s product portfolio.
