Berlin/Hamburg — Quantum-Systems, the leading developer of unmanned aerial systems (UAS), raises second round of financing in 2022. In addition to existing investor Bayern Kapital, new investors Peter Thiel, Project A and Sanno Capital also participated in the funding. Quantum-Systems relied on the expertise and competence of the YPOG team around Adrian Haase and Benjamin Ullrich for this financing round, as it did in the first half of 2022, in the previous $30 million Series A financing round.
Quantum-Systems is a leader in UAS development. The electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) systems offer industry-leading flight endurance, operational ease of use and reliability. The versatile UAS are used for security, defense, humanitarian and geospatial missions in both the public and private sectors.
The new capital will be spent on R&D investments that drive the advancement of artificial intelligence, autonomy, edge computing and robotics. The funding will also enable Quantum Systems to meet the growing demand for advanced UAS in the defense, agriculture, mining, construction and energy sectors. The UAS can be used for a variety of use cases, such as search and rescue missions after natural disasters, automated rail inspections after severe weather, and aerial data collection of large-scale construction projects.
