Frankfurt am Main — McDermott Will & Emery has advised Hanwha Q CELLS GmbH on the acquisition of 66% of the shares in LYNQTECH GmbH, a subsidiary of enercity AG (Stadtwerke Hannover). LYQNTECH will continue to exist as a company. The closing of the transaction is subject to approval by the relevant regulatory authorities.
Founded in 2020, the modular cloud energy platform LYNQTECH provides energy suppliers with digital solutions to optimize their sales processes. With the acquisition of a majority stake in LYNQTECH, Qcells consolidates its position as a full-service provider of clean energy solutions and expands its digital services portfolio.
Part of the Hanwha Group since 2012, Qcells is playing a key role in shaping the transition to a clean energy sector as a leading global manufacturer of solar products for residential and commercial customers. Qcells’ parent company is Hanwha Solutions Corporation, a multinational energy services, petrochemical and real estate development company headquartered in Seoul, South Korea.
The team led by Dr. Bernd Meyer-Witting and Florian Lechner has already recently advised Hanwha Group on the acquisition of RES Méditerranée SAS by Hanwha Solutions Corporation (HSC).
