Hamburg/ New York/ Berlin — Hamburg-based FinTech company ExpressGroup, founded in 2019, has raised a Series A financing with a total volume of € 25 million. This was led by Project A Ventures and Insight Partners.
Using an AI-powered backend system, ExpressGroup enables platform providers such as accounting firms, tax advisors and lawyers to process tax files within minutes. The system combines machine learning and automation capabilities with manual labor to ensure easier, faster and more accurate processing of income tax returns. The first product, ExpressTax, offers users the ability to submit the required data within 10 minutes and, on the other hand, provides process intelligence and automation for tax professionals. In less than 12 months, they have thus increased to a total volume of receivables of € 45 million.
Following on from its promising growth in Germany, ExpressGroup is now turning its focus to the larger EU tax market. The additional funds will be spent on the company’s international expansion and the launch of further products in additional FinTech areas.
