Hanover — NRW.BANK is the first development bank to cooperate with the FinCompare finance portal with immediate effect: Selected NRW.BANK development programmes are now integrated into the fintech’s portal and complement the range of products offered by around 200 principal banks, savings banks and other financing partners.
“Digital sales channels are also becoming increasingly important in the initiation of loan transactions in the commercial sector,” explains Michael Stölting, member of NRW.BANK’s Managing Board. “By cooperating with FinCompare, we offer companies in NRW another digital way to find the right funding product for their entrepreneurial idea.”
“Development banks play an important role in corporate development and NRW.BANK is an elementary factor in SME financing. Together, we are now simplifying access to capital: companies from NRW looking for investment loans on FinCompare, for example, are filtered out and, on request, their eligibility for funding is checked automatically and in real time by NRW.BANK — this is the modern form of corporate financing,” says Stephan Heller, founder and CEO of FinCompare.
On the FinCompare platform (

), small and medium-sized enterprises can compare offers from more than 200 financing partners (banks, leasing companies and FinTechs) for commercial financing and business investments and request a deal from their preferred banks. To date, FinCompare serves more than 1,500 active customers with a processed financing volume of more than 800 million euros. FinCompare is headquartered in Berlin and since March 2018, the comparison portal has maintained an office in Düsseldorf, where a team of around 20 employees is being built up. With NRW.BANK, a development bank is now also connected via a technical interface for the first time. This enables companies from North Rhine-Westphalia to optimize the financing of their project with a bank or savings bank in line with their needs. The cooperation is part of NRW.BANK’s digitization strategy.
