Schwäbisch Hall — Schwäbisch Hall-based sauna manufacturer Klafs GmbH & Co. KG acquires a majority stake in British swimming pool builder Guncast Swimming Pools Limited. Klafs was advised by Menold Bezler together with the British law firm Stevens & Bolton.
Guncast, a family-run business based in Petworth, West Sussex, is a provider of luxury swimming pools and employs around 40 people. Guncast had already been a supplier of Klafs products to the UK market since 2016.
Founded in 1928, the family-owned company Klafs is the market leader for sauna, pool and spa equipment with more than 730 employees. The majority takeover strengthens Klafs’ international positioning.
Menold Bezler advised Klafs on the legal aspects of the transaction under German law, having already acted for Klafs on the sale of a majority stake to investment company Egeria in February this year. Stevens & Bolton, a long-standing cooperation partner of Menold Bezler, assisted Klafs with the legal structuring under British law.
