Düsseldorf — ARQIS advised Omnes Capital on the closing of a solar energy joint venture with German solar power developer ILOS New Energy. The French private equity firm invests through its Capenergie 4 fund.
The fund is dedicated to renewable energy and now has three investments in its portfolio. He partnered with Spain’s Prosolia Energy and became involved with Danish solar energy provider Better Energy. Further transactions are currently being examined and are already at an advanced stage.
The goal of the Capenergie funds is to provide growth capital to support European renewable energy developers on their way to becoming independent energy producers. The current transaction illustrates this strategy.
ILOS New Energy is an international solar power developer based in Germany and was founded by Michael Winter and Nikolaus Krane, two experts in utility systems and the solar industry. The aim of the partnership is to create a platform for pan-European solar power projects with a total capacity of more than 1.5 GW. The company already has a project pipeline that includes a total capacity of more than 500 MW in the Netherlands, Ireland, the United Kingdom, Spain and Italy. The partnership with Omnes comes with the intention of becoming an independent power producer across multiple markets.
